I am hoping somebody has an answer for me. I was told that my last name (Wainio) means field in Finnish. Not sure if its spelled the same in Finnish. It might be with a V instead of a W. Help please.

hi,
Vainio (with V) means in finnish certain type of field, which grows in nature condition hay and flowers etc. It's not cultivated land, but kind of field anyway. And it is also old world not so common used nowadays, i would say.
