olympiad. They were the daughters of the
Moon goddess,
Selene, and her lover,
Endymion, a mortal king. Their individual names are not attested in any sources. Each presided over one of the 50 lunar months of the 4-year Olympiad - a basic time measurement unit for the Ancient Greeks.
